TV Mounting Installer Jobs in Houston 77056 (Uptown & Galleria)
77056 is high-rise country. EVOTECH IT LLC is looking for display installers who can work inside secured residential towers, satisfy building management before touching a wall, and represent a licensed contractor in front of a concierge desk.
High-rise installation is a separate discipline
Techs who have only ever worked detached houses frequently struggle their first month in 77056, and it has nothing to do with skill at hanging a bracket. Uptown is dominated by residential towers, luxury mid-rise buildings, and the condominium stock clustered around Post Oak Boulevard, with the large Tanglewood-area single-family homes sitting just to the north and west of it.
In a tower, the building itself is a second client. Somebody at a management desk decides whether you enter at all, which elevator you may use, which hours you may work, what may be laid across a lobby floor, and whether your paperwork satisfies their insurance requirement. None of that is negotiable by charm, and an installer who treats it as an obstacle rather than as part of the job simply will not last on this route.
The compensating advantage is real. Tower residents replace displays often, frequently own more than one, regularly want an equipment closet or a concealed soundbar solved at the same time, and refer neighbours in the same building — which is the most efficient referral geometry in the entire trade.
Certificates of insurance come before the drill
Nearly every managed residential tower in Uptown requires a certificate of insurance naming the building and its management company before a vendor is allowed above the lobby. Some also want a vendor registration on file, and a few require an annual renewal rather than a per-visit document.
EVOTECH handles the company side of that, because we carry contractor coverage and have been filing this paperwork with Houston buildings for two decades. What we need from you is that your own details are accurate, current, and match what we submitted — a name on the access list that does not match the identification in your pocket ends a visit at the desk.
The access sequence in a managed building
- Resident notifies management and files the work request, usually a day or more ahead.
- Management confirms the vendor is on file and the insurance document is valid.
- Service entrance, elevator and permitted work hours are assigned.
- The installer checks in at the desk with identification and is badged or escorted.
- Any protective covering the building requires goes down before material moves.
Read those requirements before you leave the shop, not while standing in a marble lobby with a display on a cart.
Post-tension slab, steel stud and what you must never anchor into
Tower interiors are built nothing like the wood-framed houses most installers learn on, and the difference is a safety matter rather than a preference.
- Steel stud partitions. Interior walls in modern towers are typically light-gauge steel rather than lumber. Fasteners, bit selection and load behaviour all change, and a lag screw intended for a two-by-four is the wrong answer in a metal track.
- Concrete shear walls and columns. These take masonry anchors, correct embedment depth, and dust control that does not coat a resident’s furniture. Hammer drilling in an occupied building is also a noise event, which is precisely why buildings restrict working hours.
- Post-tension slabs. Cables run inside these structures under enormous tension. Nobody on our crews drills into a post-tension slab casually. If the plan requires penetrating a structural element, it stops and goes back to the office and to building management — every time, with no exception for a customer in a hurry.
- Floor-to-ceiling glazing. A wall of window means the mountable surface may be a single narrow pier, which changes bracket selection and sometimes changes the answer to whether the display can hang there at all.
Tanglewood-area houses swing the other way entirely: generous custom rooms, substantial masonry, millwork and stone surrounds that are expensive to mark, and homeowners who notice a scuffed baseboard immediately.
Loading docks, freight elevators and protected paths
Getting a large panel from a vehicle to a twenty-eighth-floor living room is genuinely part of the skill set, and it is the part nobody trains for.
Parking in Uptown is structured garages and valet rather than driveways. Expect low clearance bars, assigned service bays, a walk from the dock to the elevator lobby, and a strict rule against leaving a vehicle where the valet stand needs it. A cart or panel dolly is not optional equipment here.
Freight elevators are reserved, usually in blocks, and the reservation is the whole schedule. Miss the window and the install does not simply run late — it moves to another day, because the next slot belongs to somebody else’s mover. Buildings commonly require pads hung in the car and protective covering along the corridor route; leaving marks on a shared surface is the fastest way for a vendor to lose access to an entire tower.
Conduct at a concierge desk and inside a Tanglewood home
Presentation carries unusual weight on this route. You are frequently observed by a doorman, a building engineer, a household manager, or a property assistant before you ever meet the person who booked the work.
- Arrive within the window, and telephone ahead if traffic on the 610 loop or Westheimer is going to move it.
- Clean, presentable work clothing and visible identification. No exceptions in a badged building.
- Floor protection goes down first, in the corridor as well as the unit when the building requires it.
- Keep noise inside the permitted hours. Neighbours share the wall you are drilling into.
- Answer questions plainly. Residents in these buildings ask informed questions and can tell when an answer is invented.
- Take nothing apart that you were not asked to touch, and photograph the finished work before you leave.
Discretion matters too. High-profile residents live in this ZIP. What you see inside a home is not a story you tell at the next stop.
How an Uptown week is routed
Because building windows drive the calendar, 77056 assignments are booked further ahead than the rest of our territory, and reliability on a confirmed slot is weighted heavily when we decide who receives the next one. A Tanglewood house call or a Briargrove-adjacent stop is often used to fill the gap between two tower appointments, so the day mixes property types rather than repeating one.
Compensation is determined per assignment and discussed in the interview. High-rise work carries a different time profile than suburban work, and we account for that honestly rather than pretending an Uptown ticket and a driveway-parking ticket take the same effort. We do not publish figures, because the accurate answer depends on your experience and the scope we would send you.
Apply for Uptown and Galleria assignments
Tell us about your building experience first — which towers or managed properties you have worked in, whether you have handled vendor registration before, whether you are comfortable with concrete anchoring, and whether you hold coverage in your own name. Prior AV, low-voltage, structured cabling or residential technology experience all count.
Reach us at (832) 359-2425 or through the contact form. EVOTECH IT LLC is a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor with more than twenty years in this market and a 5.0-star rating, serving Katy, Houston, Sugar Land, Richmond, Fulshear, Cypress and neighbouring Texas communities. If you would rather work detached homes than towers, say so — there is plenty of that on the western half of the territory.
