TV Installer Jobs in Houston 77009
Scheduled mounting assignments through Near Northside, Woodland Heights, Brooke Smith and Lindale Park, plus batched rental turnovers and light commercial screens on the downtown edge.
The role in plain terms
EVOTECH IT LLC schedules television and low-voltage work throughout 77009, covering Near Northside, Woodland Heights, Brooke Smith, Lindale Park and the blocks between North Main and the Hardy corridor. We contract independent installers to run it.
What we hand you is a confirmed appointment: address, arrival window, screen size, requested bracket type and whatever the customer told us about the wall. What you hand back is a level, structurally fastened mount, concealed cable wherever concealment is genuinely possible, every input tested, a room left cleaner than you found it, and photographs filed the same day.
There is no selling in this position. You are not knocking doors, you are not buying leads, and you never quote or take money at a customer’s house. The estimate was itemised before your truck pulled up.
What you are drilling into across 77009
This ZIP holds some of the oldest continuously occupied housing inside the Loop, and the character changes block to block faster than almost anywhere else in the city. Knowing which block you are standing on tells you which tools come off the truck.
Woodland Heights and Brooke Smith
Craftsman and Victorian-influenced bungalows on raised foundations, deep front porches, original siding, and interiors that owners have often restored at considerable expense. These are slow, high-finish jobs. A homeowner here will notice a sixteenth of an inch out of level, and they will mention it.
Lindale Park and the older brick blocks
Solid brick and brick-veneer houses from the thirties and forties, commonly single storey, with plaster interiors and detached garages at the back of the lot. Brick veneer over a frame wall fishes normally from inside; true multi-wythe masonry does not, and confirming which you are facing is worth doing before you promise anybody an invisible run.
Near Northside
Smaller cottages on narrow lots, a good deal of mid-century infill, and a steady stream of new townhomes filling the gaps toward the bayou. Streets are tight, driveways are short, and several blocks near the light-rail corridor have limited curb space. Bring the truck you can actually park rather than the biggest one you own.
Duplexes, fourplexes and landlord turnover work
A meaningful share of this ZIP is small rental property: duplexes, fourplexes, garage apartments and single-family houses held by local landlords. That produces a category of assignment you see far less of in the suburbs, which is the turnover install.
Turnover tickets tend to arrive batched. A property manager releases four units in one building, each needing a screen mounted and a soundbar or streaming device connected before the next tenant takes possession. The units are empty, the pace is faster than retail residential work, and the expectation is that all four look identical when you are finished: same height, same bracket, same cable path.
- Confirm which unit numbers are actually released to you before starting; occupied units are never on the ticket.
- Establish whether the building has one shared attic or fire-separated units, because it changes routing entirely.
- Keep the installs dimensionally consistent, since a manager will walk them side by side.
- Document each unit separately, with the unit number visible in at least one photograph.
Installers who handle batched work cleanly tend to receive more of it, largely because property managers ask for the same person by name.
Bars, restaurants and small offices on the downtown edge
This ZIP sits against downtown, and that proximity puts a steady amount of light commercial work on the board alongside the houses. Small restaurants, bars, barber shops, churches and single-room offices all buy screens, and they buy them on different terms than homeowners do.
| Residential assignment | Light commercial assignment |
|---|---|
| One or two screens with the homeowner present | Often three or more screens, a manager present, staff working around you |
| Daytime arrival window | Frequently before opening or after close |
| Wood or light-gauge steel framing | Masonry, block, exposed structure, occasionally ceiling-suspended mounts |
| Cable concealed inside the wall | Cable in conduit or surface raceway dressed to a commercial standard |
| Consumer sources | Distribution over HDMI or IP, multiple inputs, sometimes rack-mounted equipment |
Taking commercial assignments is not a condition of working with us. But if you are comfortable on a hammer drill in block wall and you can dress a run that a health inspector will walk straight past, mention it during the interview, because that skill set gets used in this area.
The quality bar on every assignment
One standard applies to every ticket, whether the customer is a homeowner, a landlord or a restaurant operator.
- Structure or nothing. The bracket goes into framing, solid masonry or a correctly rated anchor. Drywall anchors on their own are never an acceptable answer for a television.
- Confirmed height before drilling. Placement disputes disappear the moment the customer has approved the mark in writing or in a photograph.
- In-wall rated cable inside walls. No exceptions, and no the-customer-supplied-it defence.
- Honest routing. When a wall cannot be fished, the customer hears it from you on the spot with a workable alternative, not a hole and an apology afterwards.
- Same-day documentation. Photographs of the mount, the substrate, the cable path and the finished room close out the assignment.
Work that misses this bar gets sent back, and the return trip is not a billable ticket. Work that meets it week after week is exactly what earns routing preference.
Documents, coverage and background checks
Installers on our schedule are independent subcontractors. Ahead of a first assignment we verify identity and right to work, confirm current general liability coverage, review driving record for anyone operating a personal vehicle on our tickets, and complete a background check appropriate to entering occupied homes unaccompanied. We will tell you precisely what we are checking before we check anything.
Spanish-speaking installers are genuinely useful in this part of Houston and we will say so plainly, because a large share of customers and property managers in these blocks would rather be walked through the work in Spanish. It is not a requirement, and it is certainly not a substitute for clean workmanship.
On pay: compensation is discussed during the interview, where it can be tied to the actual scope, the complexity of the tickets you will run, and the experience you demonstrate. There is no rate table on this page because a single posted number would mislead both of us.

Every enquiry gets a reply. Where the fit is wrong we will tell you directly instead of leaving you waiting on a call that is never coming.
