TV Installer Jobs in Cypress, TX 77433
The 77433 side of Cypress is one of the fastest-growing corners of the Houston area, and the installation work reflects it: new houses, new owners, and a moving truck on every other street. EVOTECH IT LLC is hiring installers and low-voltage subcontractors who want that kind of volume.
Working in a ZIP code that is still being built
77433 is the master-planned half of Cypress. Bridgeland, Towne Lake, Fairfield, Miramesa, Cypress Creek Lakes and the newer sections still going vertical near the Grand Parkway make up most of the map, and a lot of the houses are younger than the installers working in them.
For a tech that means the work arrives in waves. A family closes, the movers pull away, and within a couple of weeks somebody wants three displays on the wall, a soundbar with not one wire showing, and the home office running before Monday. Those calls cluster, which is the opposite of the rural runs further west. Two jobs on the same street in one afternoon is normal here.
It also means you are being compared to a brand-new house. The drywall is fresh, the trim is sharp, and any patch you leave behind becomes the single imperfect thing in the room. Clean finish work is not a bonus on these calls, it is the job.
Builder pre-wire: what is behind the wall before you arrive
Most homes in this ZIP were built with some form of builder low-voltage pre-wire, and being able to read it saves an hour on nearly every call.
Expect a structured media enclosure, usually in a closet, a utility room or under the stairs, holding coax and data home-runs that are either terminated or, just as often, coiled and unlabeled because the builder package was never finished. Expect a recessed box or a blank plate behind the primary media wall with a pull string in it. Expect the pull string to be stapled somewhere it should not be.
You should be comfortable terminating keystones, testing a run, and telling the difference between a dead home-run and a dead device. A large share of what starts as a television call in 77433 grows into network cabling, because these houses are big, the exterior walls are thick, and one router in a corner does not cover them.
Attics, spray foam and the summer reality
Here is the part of the trade nobody advertises. Newer Houston construction often uses spray foam or a radiant barrier with a sealed attic, and the trusses are engineered, closely spaced and not something anybody gets to modify. The space is tighter than an older attic, the footing is worse, and in July it is punishing regardless of the barrier.
Techs who last in this ZIP plan around it. Attic pulls early in the morning, knee boards, a headlamp, water in the van, and an honest call to dispatch when conditions stop being safe instead of a heat-stroke story afterward. We would much rather reschedule a pull to seven in the morning than lose a good installer to a hospital visit.
HOA rules, gate codes and getting on the property
Nearly every neighborhood here has an active homeowners association and several sections are gated or have controlled amenity areas. That reaches you in three specific ways.
- Access. Gate codes and guest-list entries come from the homeowner, never from us. Confirm the code the day before rather than sitting at a callbox burning your window.
- Exterior work. Anything visible from the street, such as an outdoor display, a camera or an exterior cable run, can fall under architectural review. If the homeowner has not cleared it, it does not get installed, and the installer standing in the driveway is not the person who decides that.
- Parking and conduct. Blocked sidewalks, driveways and fire lanes get reported quickly in these neighborhoods. Park in the driveway when the customer allows it and keep the vehicle tidy.
Amenity centers, clubhouses and builder model homes are their own category and usually involve a property manager instead of a homeowner. Those are scheduled differently and you will be briefed before you go.
Solo installer, two-person crew, or low-voltage subcontractor
There are three ways to take work with us in this ZIP and they suit different people.
| Role | What it looks like | Best fit for |
|---|---|---|
| Solo installer | Single-display mounts, soundbars, small relocations, your own route | An experienced tech with a full truck who wants independence |
| Two-person crew | Oversized displays, multi-room jobs, work at height over a fireplace or in a two-story entry | Partners who already work together and share equipment |
| Low-voltage subcontractor | Cabling, access point and camera work that grows out of a display job | Techs with structured-wiring background who can terminate and test |
Anything above roughly seventy inches is a two-person job by our standard. We are not going to ask you to walk an eighty-five-inch panel up a staircase alone, and we do not think much of companies that do.
What we ask you to bring to the job
On the truck: your own transportation and ladders, cordless tools with spare batteries, a stud finder, fish rods, a drill and impact driver, termination and punch tools if you are doing data, a cable tester, and enough anchors, plates and patching supplies to leave a room genuinely finished.
On paper: general liability insurance and vehicle coverage, with a current certificate on file before the first job. EVOTECH IT LLC has been a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor for more than twenty years and is rated five stars by the customers who leave reviews. The subcontractors we keep are the reason that holds, so onboarding also includes a background check, since this work happens inside family homes.
Compensation is settled during the interview and depends on the scope of work you take on and what you bring to it. We do not post rates, and you should be cautious with any company that quotes you one before looking at the actual job.
How to apply for 77433 installer work
There are two ways in. Call (832) 359-2425 and ask about installer work, or go through the contact page and lead with the word INSTALLER so it lands in the right place.
Include the practical details: years in the trade, the largest display you have mounted and how you handled it, whether you terminate data, what you drive, your insurance status, and your real availability including whether weekends are on the table. Move-in installs in this ZIP skew toward evenings and Saturdays, so weekend availability genuinely increases the number of jobs we can offer you.
If you also cover 77429, Katy or the Grand Parkway corridor, mention it. Multi-ZIP availability is the largest single factor in how much work gets routed to one person.
