TV Installer Jobs in Brookshire, TX 77423

EVOTECH IT LLC is taking applications from television mounting and low-voltage installers who want steady work on the far west side of the Houston metro. Brookshire and the surrounding Waller County addresses are part of our weekly route, and the jobs out here do not look like city jobs.

A day on the Brookshire route

Brookshire sits at the western edge of our service map, where I-10 stops behaving like a city freeway and the addresses start spreading out. That single fact shapes this work more than anything else on this page.

A tech running 77423 usually handles fewer stops in a day than someone working a dense subdivision route, because the drive between two jobs can be fifteen minutes of two-lane road instead of two blocks. We build the day around that reality and we say it plainly at the interview: if you are looking to stack eight quick brackets on one street, this is not the ZIP code for it. What you get instead is larger jobs, more room to work, and customers who are rarely standing over your shoulder.

A dispatch reaches you with the address, the property type, the display size and weight, the wall construction when we know it, and whether power and signal already exist where the customer wants the screen. You confirm the arrival window, you phone the customer when you are on the road, and you send finished photos before you pull out of the driveway. Mobile coverage thins out between town and the county line, so techs who work this area learn to load their next two jobs while they still have bars.

What you are mounting to out here

Waller County housing stock is genuinely mixed, and you will not be mounting to the same wall twice in a row. On one street there are 1970s and 1980s single-story homes with brick veneer and sheetrock over wood studs. A mile later you are inside a finished metal building, the barndominium that has become completely normal in this part of Texas, where the framing is steel and the spacing is nothing your stud finder will guess for you. Then there are the newer production homes going up near the I-10 and Grand Parkway corridor, and manufactured homes set on acreage with thin interior walls that will not hold a large panel without added backing.

What you pull up toWhat the install actually demands
Older brick-and-frame ranch houseWood studs on irregular spacing, no existing in-wall pathway, fish the cable or run raceway and finish it so it looks intentional
Metal-frame barndominium or finished shopSelf-drilling fasteners into light-gauge steel, locate structure before you commit, expect exposed conduit and long pulls
Manufactured home on acreageThin wall board and minimal framing, add backing or move to a floor-supported mount rather than forcing an anchor
New production home near the corridorA builder box may already be in the wall with a pull string, open it before you cut anything
Detached shop, garage or covered patioHeat, dust and weather exposure, so cable rating and equipment selection matter as much as the bracket

Driveways are the other quiet variable. Gravel and caliche are common, gates are common, and a dog nobody mentioned is common. Park where you can still get the van out, and never block a working gate.

The tools and truck you are expected to bring

We do not hand out tool kits. An installer who takes a Brookshire job is expected to arrive self-contained, because the nearest supply house is a drive and a half-finished job costs everyone the afternoon.

At minimum that means a reliable vehicle that can carry a six-foot and an eight-foot ladder, a cordless drill and impact driver with charged spares, a level you trust, a deep socket set, a stud finder plus the judgment to verify it by knuckle, fish rods, fish tape, a drywall saw, and a cable tester if you are touching signal work.

Bring your own consumables as well: lag bolts, toggles, self-drilling screws sized for metal, low-voltage mounting brackets, wall plates, cable clips, patching compound and a clean drop cloth. The drop cloth is not a small detail. On a rural property the customer is usually in the room with you the entire time, and the state you leave a floor in is the reason they call us again.

When a job genuinely needs specialty gear, such as an outdoor-rated enclosure, a long articulating arm for a high ceiling or a lift for a shop install, that gets sorted before dispatch rather than discovered on site.

Skills we look for, and skills we will teach

The honest list of what separates a tech we keep calling from one we do not: you can read a room and get the mounting height right the first time, you can hide a cable run instead of making the wall look like an afterthought, and you can tell a customer no. That last one matters. Somebody will eventually want a very large screen over a fireplace on a wall that cannot carry it, and the right answer is to explain the problem and offer a plan, not to sink an anchor and hope.

Background that transfers well: residential audio-video, cable or satellite installation, structured cabling, electrical helper time, home theater retail installs, or construction trim work. If you came out of any of those, most of this will feel familiar within a week.

What we will teach you: our dispatch and documentation flow, how we spec a mount by display weight against wall type, the cable management standard we expect on every single job, and the handoff between a mounting call and the cabling or camera work that frequently grows out of it on these larger properties.

Insurance, background checks and paperwork

EVOTECH IT LLC is a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor and has been doing this work since around 2004. The company carries its own coverage and subcontractors are expected to carry theirs, meaning general liability at minimum plus your own vehicle insurance. We ask for a current certificate before your first dispatch and we ask again when it renews.

You also need to be comfortable with a background check, because a large share of this work happens inside occupied homes with families and pets in them. If your work extends into security cameras or alarm equipment, there are Texas licensing rules that sit at the company level. We handle that side and we will walk you through exactly what applies to your role before you are sent to that kind of job.

Compensation is discussed during the interview. It depends on scope, property complexity and your experience, and we would rather work it out honestly with a real job sheet in front of us than publish a number on a web page that turns out not to match your situation.

How dispatch works and how to apply

Dispatch is simple and we keep it that way. Jobs are offered with the details attached, you accept or you pass, and once you accept it is yours, including the customer call and the return visit if something needs a second look. We do not overbook people and we do not leave a tech stranded on a job that turned out to be bigger than the sheet said. If the scope changed, call in and the customer gets re-quoted before you continue.

Brookshire work is usually bundled with Katy, Fulshear and the western Cypress runs, so an installer willing to cover the I-10 and Grand Parkway corridor is offered more volume than one who will only accept 77423.

To apply, call (832) 359-2425 and say you are calling about installer work, or send your background through the contact page. Tell us what you have mounted, what you drive, what tools you already own and which days you can genuinely work. That is the whole application, and a detailed three sentences beats a resume.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need my own ladders and vehicle for Brookshire jobs?
Yes. There is no shop truck to borrow and no equipment pool out here. You need transportation that carries at least a six-foot and an eight-foot ladder, plus your own hand tools and consumables, so a job can be finished in one visit.
How far apart are the jobs in 77423?
Further than in a subdivision route. It is common for two Brookshire stops to be ten or fifteen minutes of county road apart, so the day is built around fewer, larger jobs rather than a dense cluster of quick ones.
I have never mounted inside a metal building. Is that a problem?
Not if you say so. Barndominium and shop work needs self-drilling fasteners into light-gauge steel and a different approach to locating structure. We would rather coach a careful tech through the first one than find out afterward.
What does the work pay?
Compensation is discussed during the interview and depends on the scope you take and the experience you bring. We do not publish rates, because a posted figure has a way of turning into a promise that does not fit the actual job.
Can I take this work part-time or on weekends?
Tell us your real availability when you apply. Limited availability means fewer jobs offered rather than none, and we would rather route around a schedule you can keep than have a tech cancel on a customer.
