Installer Recruitment – Memorial, Wilchester & Nottingham Forest

TV Installation Subcontractor Jobs in Houston, TX 77079

Big panels, big rooms, mature trees and customers who will notice a bracket that sits an eighth of an inch out. The Memorial side of 77079 is finish work, and it is where careful installers are worth the most.

Two Houses on One Street: Original Ranch and Modern Rebuild

Drive Wilchester or the streets around Nottingham Forest and you will see the split on every block. Long low brick ranch houses from the sixties and seventies sitting under mature oaks and pines, and next door a recent two storey replacement built on a raised slab.

They are two different jobs wearing the same address format. The survivor ranch gives you eight foot ceilings, a real masonry chimney, sometimes original panelling, sometimes plaster repairs from several decades of remodels, and no low voltage infrastructure whatsoever. Every cable you want hidden, you route yourself.

The rebuild usually arrives pre-wired: conduit or a smurf tube from the media wall to an equipment closet, low voltage boxes already set behind the panel position, occasionally a structured wiring panel with everything labelled. There the skill is finding and using what is there instead of cutting a fresh path beside it.

Read the house before you read the work order, and you will know within two minutes which of those two days you are having.

Eighty-Five Inches Is a Two-Person Lift, Not a Point of Pride

Panel sizes in this part of town run large, and large panels are awkward long before they are heavy. The mass is spread across a span wide enough that a single person cannot control both ends while also finding the hooks.

Our expectation is plain. Above the size you can genuinely handle alone, you ask dispatch for a second installer and you get one. Nobody is scored on solo heroics, and there is no version of a cracked screen or a damaged wall that ends up cheaper than an extra pair of hands.

The rest is discipline. Verify the mount is rated for the actual panel weight rather than the size class. Use the correct VESA adapters instead of improvised spacers. Set and level the wall plate, confirm it, then bring the panel to it. Clear and protect a landing space before you open the carton. Never rest a large panel on a sofa arm or lean it unattended against a wall in a house with a dog or a toddler in it.

Masonry Chimney Breasts, Anchors and Heat

Fireplace mounting is routine here because so many of the original houses were built around a brick or stone hearth in the main living room.

Anchoring is straightforward if you own the right tools: an SDS-plus hammer, sharp masonry bits, and sleeve anchors set in solid masonry rather than in a mortar joint. Blow the dust out of the hole before the anchor goes in. Drywall hardware has no place on that wall.

Heat is the part that gets missed. Televisions have a maximum operating temperature and a working fireplace pushes warm air straight up the face of the breast. If the customer burns real fires, that has to be discussed on site and reported to dispatch, and the answer may be a pull-down mantel mount, a higher equipment position or a different wall entirely.

A recessed media box behind the panel keeps plugs and connectors from forcing the screen off the wall. Cable never gets routed through a live chimney chase.

What No Visible Cable Actually Requires

Customers on these streets tend to state the requirement in four words and expect it delivered without further discussion. Delivering it is a specific skill set.

In framed walls it means in-wall rated cable, a recessed low voltage bracket behind the panel and a matching one at the equipment position, and a listed in-wall power relocation kit. Ordinary extension leads do not go inside walls. New circuits are an electrician’s scope that we arrange, never something an installer improvises.

You will meet fire blocking, top plates and insulation on the way. Sometimes the honest route is up into the attic and back down, and in these single storey houses that is often the cleanest path available.

On brick, stone or a solid masonry face, concealment is not possible and the professional answer is a properly aligned surface raceway, painted to match, with the customer told before the work starts rather than shown afterwards.

Covered Patios, Pool Decks and Outdoor Displays

Outdoor living space is common on these lots and outdoor display work is a steady part of the territory from spring onward.

Hardware has to suit the location. Corrosion resistant mount hardware, anchors chosen for the actual substrate whether that is a brick column, a rendered wall or a timber post, and consideration of wind loading on any articulated arm sitting under an open-sided cover.

The environment is harsher than it looks. Humidity, condensation and insects finding their way into vents all shorten the life of equipment that was never intended to leave a living room, and an honest conversation about that belongs in your on-site notes. Power and any weatherproof outlet work is an electrician’s scope arranged through the office.

Deep Lots, Old Oaks and the Etiquette of the Driveway

Properties here sit back from the street on wide lots under heavy tree cover, and the last fifty yards shape your day more than you would guess.

Park on the drive where you are invited to and never on grass or over root zones. Bring a cart, because the walk from vehicle to living room can be long and repeated. Lay floor protection at the door and keep it down. Ask about dogs before opening a gate, and close every gate behind you without being asked twice.

Several of these neighbourhoods have active civic clubs with deed restrictions that touch anything mounted outdoors. If a customer asks for something on an exterior elevation, note it and let the office check rather than deciding at the eave.

The Standard You Are Held To, and the Insurance Behind It

The finish bar on these addresses is the highest we route, and it is measurable rather than a matter of opinion.

  • Level confirmed on the bracket and on the panel, checked twice.
  • No visible cable where concealment was promised, and no unpainted plates.
  • Sources tested, inputs labelled for the customer, remotes paired and demonstrated.
  • Packaging removed, dust vacuumed, floor protection lifted last.
  • Photographs of the finished position sent with your completion note.

On the business side: general liability and commercial vehicle cover in your own business name with a certificate on file, a W-9, background screening consent, and invoicing per completed job as an independent subcontractor. EVOTECH IT LLC is the licensed and insured contractor on the order, and pricing is set by the office so no figure is ever discussed on a customer’s floor.

Applying for Memorial-Area Routes

Call (832) 359-2425 or use the contact page and tell us you want subcontract installation work on the Memorial side.

Photographs of your own finished installs are the most useful thing you can send, particularly anything on masonry or with concealed cable. Beyond that we want your insurance agent’s details, what you drive, whether you can supply your own second set of hands on large panels, and the days you can genuinely commit to.

What the work pays is settled in that conversation rather than advertised, because it follows the scope you take and the standard you hold. EVOTECH IT LLC has worked as a licensed and insured low voltage contractor across Katy, Houston, Sugar Land, Richmond, Fulshear and Cypress for more than twenty years and is rated 5.0 stars.

Frequently asked questions

Do you send two installers for the large panels, or is that on me?

Ask and you get a partner. Tell dispatch the size you are comfortable handling alone and we route accordingly, or we pair you. Nobody here is expected to walk an eighty-five inch panel up a ladder solo to prove something.

The customer wants power moved inside the wall. Is that mine to do?

Only with a listed in-wall power relocation kit, installed the way its instructions say. Anything that means a new circuit, a new outlet or touching the panel board is a licensed electrician’s work, and the office arranges it as a separate scope rather than having you improvise on the day.

How is finish quality actually judged?

By the checklist above and by the customer’s own eyes. Level, concealed cable where it was promised, painted or matched plates, labelled inputs, a demonstration before you leave, and a clean room behind you. Your completion photographs are the record, which is exactly why we ask for them every time.

My work is strong but my insurance lapsed. Should I still apply?

Apply and say so plainly. We will have the conversation and you can start being routed once a current certificate is in our file. What does not work is turning up to a job without cover and hoping nobody asks, because on these addresses somebody always asks.

Finish work is the skill this territory pays for.

If you anchor into masonry properly, hide cable properly and clean up properly, we would like to hear from you. Send photographs of your own work with your details.
