TV Hanging Technician Jobs in Houston, TX 77041

Northwest Houston is two jobs in one ZIP. Along the Hempstead corridor and the Beltway 8 frontage sit warehouses, flex bays and shop offices; behind them sit subdivisions of brick veneer houses built from the 1970s onward, most of them with a fireplace and an attic. EVOTECH IT LLC is hiring TV hanging technicians who can move between both without changing their standards. Licensed, insured, 5.0-star rated, and working Houston low voltage for more than twenty years.

The ground you cover between Hempstead Road and Beltway 8

Technicians who have only worked inside the Loop are usually surprised by this ZIP twice. The first surprise is the scale of the commercial stock: whole streets of tilt-wall buildings, distribution bays, service yards and light-industrial suites where the office is a small conditioned box bolted into the front of a very large warehouse. The second surprise is how quickly that gives way to quiet residential streets with basketball hoops and brick mailboxes.

Practically, that means your day may swing from a fourteen-foot break-room wall in a warehouse at eight in the morning to a family room with a stone fireplace at three in the afternoon. The hardware, the ladder, the anchors and the conversation are different in each. You should be able to switch cleanly.

It also means driving. Distances here are longer than the inner-city ZIPs and the frontage roads punish anyone who guesses at travel time. We would rather build you a tighter route than have you sprinting between two ends of the northwest.

Break rooms, shop floors and mounts you cannot reach from a step ladder

Commercial tickets out here are rarely about a living-room viewing angle. A warehouse break room needs a screen high enough that it is not walked into and angled down so a crew at tables can read it. A shop floor may want a display visible across a bay. A dispatch office may want two screens side by side showing schedules. The displays are often ordinary consumer panels in extraordinary positions, which is where judgement earns its keep.

What we expect you to know before we route you to that kind of work:

  • Tilt-wall and masonry construction means anchors rated for concrete, set to depth, not drywall hardware and hope
  • High mounts need a proper ladder or a lift, three points of contact, and somebody else in the building who knows you are up there
  • Steel structure and conduit run inside these walls and ceilings — scan, look, and ask the maintenance supervisor before penetrating anything
  • Cable in an industrial space is exposed to forklifts and doors; route it in raceway or conduit where it can be struck
  • Sites have their own safety rules. Hi-vis, safety glasses and closed footwear are the minimum, and some yards require a briefing before you walk the floor

Nobody is put on a high mount because they said they were comfortable with it. We watch first.

Brick, stone veneer and the fireplace question

The residential half of 77041 is largely 1970s-to-2000s subdivision construction: slab on grade, wood stud framing on reliable centres, drywall, and a fireplace in the main living space more often than not. Those fireplaces are frequently brick or cultured stone across a full wall, and the customer nearly always wants the screen above the mantel.

Handled well, that is a straightforward masonry mount: the right bit, the right sleeve anchors, a level check against a wall that is not perfectly flat because stone veneer never is, and a cable path that does not scar the face. Handled badly, it is a cracked veneer piece the homeowner will look at for the next decade. Take the extra ten minutes.

Attics matter here too. Cable runs from a living room to an equipment closet or a media box often go up and over, and that means working above a ceiling in a Gulf Coast summer. If you are not prepared to do attic work safely — walking the joists, watching the heat, hydrating, never stepping on sheetrock — say so in the interview so we route around it rather than finding out in July.

Getting signal and power to the screen without a visible wire

Customers judge the finished job on one thing above all: whether they can see a cable. A great deal of the craft in this trade is in the routing, not the mounting. You should be fluent in cutting clean old-work boxes, dropping behind a wall between plates, keeping low-voltage separated from electrical, and using in-wall rated cable where it belongs.

Where new power is needed behind a panel, that is licensed scope. It happens under EVOTECH’s licence and supervision, and a technician does not improvise it, extend a circuit, or run an extension cord inside a wall to make a customer happy. Say what is possible, call the office, and let us schedule it properly. This is not bureaucracy — it is the line between a company that lasts twenty years and one that does not.

Truck stock, ladders and what you carry on a northwest route

Because the drives are long, returning for a part costs far more here than in a dense ZIP. Technicians on this route stock deeper than usual.

  • Rotary hammer and a range of masonry bits, plus sleeve and wedge anchors in common sizes
  • Impact driver, lag bolts, structural screws, and hollow-wall toggles for the office partitions
  • Step ladder plus an extension or platform ladder for commercial ceiling heights
  • Fish tape, glow rods, old-work brackets, raceway, wall plates, cable clips
  • Levels, laser, stud finder, voltage tester, cable tester, spare HDMI
  • Hi-vis vest, glasses, gloves, knee pads, a head lamp for attics and ceiling spaces
  • Drop cloths and a vacuum — a clean finish in a house is as much of the job as the bracket

A pickup or van that can carry a ladder legally and a large carton safely is effectively required for this route.

Licensing, insurance and why we verify every line of it

We check general liability insurance, automobile liability on your work vehicle, workers’ compensation or an accepted exemption if you use helpers, a W-9, and government identification. Background screening is completed before your first ticket. Commercial and industrial clients frequently ask for vendor documentation before allowing anybody on site, so incomplete paperwork is not just our preference — it is the difference between being dispatched and sitting idle.

Low-voltage and electrical work is regulated in Texas. Ordinary panel mounting is not licensed work; running new circuits is. Everything on a ticket that touches licensed scope is performed under our licence with our oversight. Earnings are settled at the interview and move with how much scope you carry and how long you have done this work. Anybody quoting a fixed northwest-Houston number before seeing your installs is guessing.

How the northwest schedule is built and what we expect from you

Routes are assembled the day before and weighted for drive time, not just job count. Commercial work often has to land before a shift change or after one; residential work clusters in the afternoon and early evening. You confirm your run, you arrive in the window, and you call in the moment something slips — a locked gate, a supervisor in a meeting, a customer who is not home.

Each stop closes with photographs and a short note on what was installed. Additional scope — an extra outlet, a second screen, a soundbar, a longer concealed run — is approved by the office before anything is promised or charged. Technicians never set prices, on any ticket, for any customer.

Applying for northwest Houston technician work

Call (832) 359-2425 or apply through /contact/. Tell us what you drive, what ladders you own, whether you are comfortable at height and in attics, how your insurance stands, and which days you can work. Photographs of completed installations help more than anything else you can send — particularly a masonry or stone fireplace mount and a commercial high mount, since those are the two things this ZIP asks for most.

After the interview and document check, new technicians ride with a lead on a mixed day. We look at anchor selection, ladder habits, how the site is left, and how you speak to a customer. If that goes well, you go on the northwest dispatch list.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need formal lift certification?
For most tickets, no — the great majority are reachable from ladders. Where a site requires a scissor lift or boom, we expect documented training for that equipment, and the client’s own site rules may add requirements on top. Tell us honestly what you are trained on; we route accordingly.
Is this route mostly commercial or mostly residential?
It genuinely mixes. There is a lot of warehouse and flex-space frontage along the main corridors, and substantial residential neighbourhoods behind it. Technicians who can only do one side of that can still work here, but they get fewer tickets than someone who handles both.
How do you deal with the long drives out here?
By clustering. Runs are built geographically with realistic travel time between stops rather than an optimistic best case. If a route looks undeliverable when it lands in your phone, say so that evening — reworking it then is easy, reworking it at noon is not.
Is attic work part of the job?
Sometimes, for concealed cable runs between rooms or to an equipment location. It is hot and it demands care: walk the joists, keep water with you, and never step on sheetrock. If attics are not something you will do, tell us in the interview and we will keep those tickets away from you.
Can I work weekends only?
Possibly. Residential demand is strong on Saturdays, and some commercial clients out here prefer work outside production hours. Availability is part of the interview conversation, and a weekend-only technician is useful to us as long as it is consistent.
Do you require a specific vehicle?
Not a specific make, but it must legally and safely carry a ladder and a large panel carton, and it must be insured for work use. On this route a return trip for a forgotten part costs most of an hour, so we also look at whether you stock your vehicle seriously.
What do you check before assigning industrial work?
Anchor knowledge on concrete and tilt-wall, ladder discipline, whether you check for conduit and structure before drilling, and whether you follow a client’s site safety rules without being asked twice. That is observed on a ride-along, not taken on trust.
