TV Installer Jobs in Houston 77099 (Bissonnet, Synott and the Beltway 8 Business Strip)
On this route the person handing you the ticket is usually running a business, the screen usually ends up above head height, and the appointment usually starts after the last customer of the day has left. EVOTECH IT LLC is looking for subcontract installers who are comfortable working in occupied small commercial space in southwest Houston.
Who Actually Books Us in 77099
Look at a week of tickets from this ZIP code and the pattern is obvious. A dental suite wants a screen in the waiting area. A salon on Bissonnet wants two on the same wall. A small insurance office off Synott wants a display in the meeting room with a plate the visiting customer can plug into. A daycare wants a monitor at the front desk. A tyre shop wants something in the waiting bay that nobody can reach.
Houses exist on this route and we do serve them, but the centre of gravity is small commercial, and that changes what a good installer looks like. The person letting you in is paying for the work out of their own business account, is standing there while you work, and has to open again tomorrow morning whatever happens this evening. They are not comparing you to another installer. They are comparing you to the disruption you cause.
So the skills that matter most here are not exotic. They are turning up inside the window, working clean in a space that has to be usable the moment you leave, and being able to explain in plain language what you are about to do to somebody’s wall before you do it.
Almost Everything Here Gets Mounted Out of Reach
The single technical difference between this route and a residential one is height. In a waiting room, a shop floor or a service bay, the screen goes high enough that nobody can touch it, knock it or walk into it. That has consequences you need to have thought about.
What changes when the screen is above eye level
- A flat mount is usually wrong. A downward tilt, or a ceiling drop with an adjustable column, is what makes the picture watchable from a seat below it.
- Load path matters more. You are further from the wall, so the bracket is working harder at the top fixings, and a fixing that would be adequate at chest height may not be adequate at ten feet with a long tilt arm.
- Suspended ceiling tiles hold nothing. A ceiling mounted display is carried by the structure above the grid, with a proper support, and the grid is never the anchor.
- The cable has further to travel and is more visible. Above head height, sloppy cable is the first thing every customer sees, and it is what gets photographed in a complaint.
Commercial finishes on this route are also less forgiving than drywall on stud. Expect painted block in older units, metal stud with a single layer of board in newer fit outs, and demising walls between tenancies that you do not penetrate without permission from the landlord, not just the tenant.
The Hour After the Last Customer Walks Out
A clinic cannot lose a morning of appointments so somebody can mount a screen. A salon cannot empty its chairs at two in the afternoon. The practical result is that a meaningful share of 77099 tickets are scheduled at the end of a business day, early before opening, or on a weekend.
This suits some installers extremely well. If you already run a day job or another trade, an evening ticket that starts at six and finishes at eight is genuinely workable, and we have people on this route whose availability is exactly that. It suits other people badly, and that is fine as long as you tell us up front instead of accepting a window you cannot really make.
Being late to a business appointment is a different failure from being late to a house. The owner has stayed behind for you and is paying staff or losing their own evening. If you are running behind, the call goes out while you are still at the previous job, not when you are already past the start time.
When the Conversation Is Not Happening in Your First Language
Southwest Houston is one of the most linguistically varied parts of the city, and on this route you will regularly work with owners whose strongest language is not English, and sometimes not yours either. This is not a difficulty to be managed around. It is simply the character of the area, and the installers who do best here handle it the same way every time.
Show rather than describe. Hold your hand where the screen will sit and let the customer see the position before anything is drilled. Use the phone: a photo of the proposed layout settles a question that ten sentences will not. Confirm the important points in writing through the ticket so there is a record both sides can read at their own pace. And take the extra two minutes at the start, because every one of those minutes saves ten at the end.
You are not required to speak any particular language to work this route. You are required to be patient, to check that you have actually been understood rather than assuming it, and never to let impatience read as disrespect in somebody’s own business.
Fire Lanes, Shared Lots and Units With No Back Door
Strip centre logistics are their own small skill. There is no loading dock. There is often no rear access to the unit at all. The front of the building is a fire lane that a centre manager or a passing patrol will care about, and the parking directly outside the door belongs to the customers of the businesses either side of the one you are working in.
Park in a bay, not the lane, even if it means carrying a panel forty feet further. Bring a dolly or a panel cart, because on this route you will use it far more than on a residential route. Keep the doorway clear while you work, since the unit next door has customers coming and going and their goodwill costs you nothing to keep.
One more item specific to multi tenant buildings: several of these properties require a certificate of insurance on file before any contractor works in the building. Where that applies we sort it out before the ticket reaches you, but you must have current general liability coverage in your own business name for that to be possible at all.

These are subcontract assignments. You run your own business, supply your own tools and vehicle, carry your own coverage, and accept or decline each offered ticket. EVOTECH IT LLC is a licensed and insured low voltage contractor with more than twenty years in this trade and a five star rating, and you work within our licensed scope, which does not include line voltage electrical work.
To apply, call (832) 359-2425 or write through the contact page and say you are interested in installer work in 77099. Tell us your real evening and weekend availability, whether you have worked in occupied commercial space before, and whether ceiling supported or high mounted displays are something you have done or something you want to learn. Both answers are usable. What the work pays is a conversation we have face to face, because it moves with the scope of each assignment and with the experience you walk in holding.
