TV Mounting Jobs in Katy, TX 77493
EVOTECH IT LLC contracts independent display-mounting installers for work in the 77493 side of Katy — the new-construction belt north and west of I-10. If you mount clean, communicate, and show up when you said you would, we want to talk about work.
What a 77493 install day actually looks like
Most of the display work we dispatch into 77493 lands in houses less than ten years old, and a good share of them were finished in the last three. That single fact shapes the whole day — the wall you open is clean, the framing is predictable, and the family has usually just moved in and wants four or five things handled while you are already there.
A dispatch starts with a confirmed arrival window rather than a vague morning or afternoon. You get the address, the mount type, the screen size and weight, the wall description the customer gave us, and a note about anything unusual: a fireplace, a stone surround, a two-story great room. You confirm the day before, text when you are on the way, and walk the room with the homeowner before a single hole is drilled.
The install itself is rarely just a bracket. Here it is usually locate and mark the framing, agree the height with the customer seated where they actually watch, set the plate, fish power and HDMI down the cavity to a recessed outlet or low-voltage ring, hang the panel, level it, dress the cables, pair the sound bar or streaming stick, and leave the room cleaner than you found it. Then you photograph the finished wall and close the job in writing.
Multi-unit days are common in this ZIP. A builder hands over a house with a niche in the great room, a primary bedroom, a game room and a covered patio, and the family wants all four in one visit. Installers who sequence that properly — cable pulls first, brackets second, devices and tuning last — finish clean and finish early.
Working inside Katy’s new-construction belt
77493 covers the north and west side of Katy and has been one of the fastest-growing ZIP codes in the region. Sunterra, Elyson, Cane Island, Katy Pointe, Ventana Lakes and Marcello Lakes all sit inside it, alongside the older original Katy townsite and the Morton Ranch stretch along Katy-Hockley Cut Off Road.
What that means for the person doing the work:
- Predictable framing. Nominal two-by-four wood studs at sixteen inches on center behind half-inch drywall, with very few surprises. Stud finders behave here in a way they do not in a 1970s house.
- Pre-wired media locations. Production builders in this area routinely leave a recessed receptacle plus a low-voltage ring above the fireplace or in the great-room niche. Using what is already in the wall instead of cutting a new box beside it is the difference between a five-star review and a drywall repair.
- Tall great rooms. Two-story ceilings are everywhere in these sections. If your tallest ladder is a six-foot step, you will be turning down a large share of the work.
- Covered outdoor kitchens. Nearly every new plan has one, and the patio screen is usually an afterthought that needs a weather-rated bracket, a real drip loop, and an honest conversation about sun, heat and where the sun sits at five in the afternoon.
- Live construction access. Sections still being built change access weekly. Plan for mud, trucks and closed streets, and never park across a neighbor’s fresh driveway.
- Older pockets. The original townsite is genuinely old. You can meet plaster and mid-century framing a few miles from a house finished last month, so do not assume.
Tools, materials and transportation you bring yourself
We do not hand out tool kits. Subcontractors arrive job-ready, and the list below is what a 77493 route realistically demands.
| Category | What is expected on your truck |
|---|---|
| Access | Dependable vehicle, a step ladder plus a taller ladder that safely reaches a two-story great room, and drop cloths. |
| Layout | Long level or laser, tape, a stud finder you actually trust, and a marking method that does not scar paint. |
| Drilling & fastening | Cordless drill and impact driver, lag and masonry bits, and correct anchors for wood, metal stud and masonry. |
| Cable work | Glow rods or fish sticks, magnet set, low-voltage rings, HDMI in several lengths, ties and hook-and-loop wrap. |
| Finish | Vacuum, wall-safe cleaner, patch and touch-up materials, shoe covers. |
| Admin | A phone you answer, a way to photograph completed work, and the ability to invoice correctly. |
If a job needs a specialty part — an articulating arm for a corner, an in-wall power kit, a weather-rated outdoor bracket — flag it to dispatch before the visit instead of improvising at the customer’s expense.
The workmanship standard we hold subcontractors to
EVOTECH IT LLC is a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor with more than twenty years in this area and a 5.0-star rating. Every job you run under our name carries that rating with it, so the bar is written down rather than implied.
A wall is finished when the panel is level to the eye and to the level, the bracket is anchored into framing or into properly rated masonry hardware, no cable is visible, the height was agreed before drilling, sources and remotes work, the customer has been shown how to tilt or swing the mount, and the floor is clean.
Callbacks are the number that matters to us. An installer who runs eight clean jobs a week and never gets called back is worth far more than one who runs twelve and generates two return visits. We track it, and work gets routed accordingly.
Insurance, licensing and the paperwork side
We contract with independent installers and small crews. Before you are dispatched we ask for a completed W-9, a current certificate of general liability insurance, and confirmation that your vehicle is insured for business use. If you hold a Texas low-voltage or electrical license, or an apprentice registration, tell us — some scopes require it, and holding one opens work well beyond display mounting.
Anything that crosses into line-voltage electrical has to be performed by a properly licensed electrician. If a job needs a new receptacle behind the screen, that is a scope change and a call to dispatch, not something solved with an extension cord inside a wall cavity.
Compensation is discussed during the interview. It depends on the scope of the work, the complexity of the installation and your experience, and we are not going to publish a number on a web page — be skeptical of any contractor who does.
How to apply for 77493 work
The process is deliberately short. Call (832) 359-2425 or send a message through our contact page and tell us three things: how long you have been mounting displays, what your tallest ladder reaches, and whether you already carry general liability coverage.
From there we talk through the kinds of jobs you want, look at photographs of work you have finished, and if it is a fit we start you on a small run of Katy jobs so both sides can see how it goes. Installers who communicate well and finish clean get routed more work — that is the entire system, and there is nothing else behind it.
We also run security camera, structured cabling, access control and commercial audio-video work across the same service area, which covers Katy, Houston, Sugar Land, Richmond, Fulshear, Cypress and the surrounding Texas communities. If your skills reach past display mounting, say so up front.
