TV Mount Subcontractor Jobs, Katy TX 77491
77491 is one of Katy’s post office box codes rather than a residential district, so installers searching it are usually sorting out the business end of subcontracting: what to have registered, what insurance certificate we need, how tickets are assigned and how a week gets scheduled. That is exactly what this page covers, along with the commercial display work that makes up a real share of the Katy board.
What this ZIP is, and the territory attached to it
We will be straight about it, because guessing wastes your time: 77491 is an administrative code used for post office box delivery in Katy. There is no subdivision behind it, no fireplace stock to describe and no street you will be routed to by its number.
What it does tell us is that whoever typed it is dealing with Katy on paper – a mailing address, a business registration, an insurance certificate, an invoice. The field territory that sits behind this code is the same ground EVOTECH IT LLC has covered since roughly 2004: Katy proper, out toward Fulshear, north toward Cypress, east into west Houston and south into Richmond and Sugar Land.
So this page is built around the part of subcontracting nobody enjoys and everybody gets caught by – the setup, the scheduling, and the commercial tickets that are easiest to get wrong.
Getting your side in order before a ticket can be assigned
None of the items below are hurdles we invented. Each one exists because a customer, an insurer or a property manager eventually asks for it, and the answer cannot be improvised at the door.
| What we ask for | Why |
|---|---|
| A completed W-9 in the name you will invoice under | This is independent contract work. The name on the form, on the insurance certificate and on the invoice all have to be the same name. |
| A certificate of general liability insurance listing EVOTECH IT LLC as certificate holder | Commercial clients and residential property managers ask to see it. If it is not on file, we cannot assign you their address. |
| Proof of insurance on the vehicle you work from | You are driving to a customer’s property with tools and, sometimes, their equipment aboard. |
| A cleared background check | Homes, offices and occupied suites. There is no version of this work that skips it. |
| Contact details that are answered during your stated hours | A dispatcher who cannot reach you thirty minutes before an arrival window has to give the ticket away. |
We do not require any particular business structure, and we are not the people to tell you which one to choose – that is a question for your own accountant. What we require is consistency: one legal name, carrying its own cover, invoicing under that name.
If you also pull and terminate low-voltage cabling on our behalf, that portion of the work sits under EVOTECH’s licence and is performed to our specification rather than your own habits. Mounting a bracket and running structured cable are governed differently, and we keep the line clear.
How tickets are assigned and how a week is built
Every ticket starts with a customer who contacted EVOTECH directly – by phone on (832) 359-2425, through the website, or as a repeat client. Nothing is sold to you as a lead, and you are not quoting against three other installers for the same address.
What arrives with a ticket
- The address and the arrival window
- Panel size and what the customer says about the wall, including any photographs they sent
- The scope as sold – what the customer has already been told is included
- Access notes: gate code, badge requirement, dock or lift arrangements, after-hours entry
Accepting, and what happens next
You accept or you pass. Passing a ticket costs you nothing but that ticket. Once you accept it, it is yours from the first phone call to the follow-up a fortnight later if the customer rings back. We ask for a confirmation contact the evening before, because a customer who hears from the installer the night before almost never becomes a cancelled morning.
Scope changes on site
If a job grows once you are standing in it – a second display, a soundbar, cable to another room – it goes back through dispatch for pricing before you start. Installers do not set pricing at the door. This protects you as much as the customer: the quote is ours to defend, and you get to stay the person who solves the problem rather than the person arguing about money.
Availability
You tell us the days and hours you will genuinely work and the board is built around them. Narrow and reliable beats wide and unpredictable every single time.
The commercial half of the board
Residential mounting is the volume. Commercial display work is where an installer with discipline makes themselves valuable, and it is judged by a different standard.
- Menu boards and order-counter displays in restaurants and quick-service units. Usually fitted before opening or after closing, often portrait orientation, almost always with a requirement that no cable is visible from the customer side.
- Conference and training rooms in offices and light-industrial suites. Panel centred to the table rather than the wall, source connections brought to a floor box or a credenza, and cable lengths that leave a service loop for the next person.
- Gyms, clinics and waiting areas. High mounts, tilt brackets, public spaces. These are the jobs where anchor selection is not a matter of opinion – if the wall is not framed timber, it gets the fixing the substrate actually calls for, and if you are not certain what the substrate is, you ring in.
- Multi-unit and property-manager work. Repeat addresses, sign-in procedures, and a manager who will notice a scuffed door frame long after you have forgotten it.
Commercial sites usually mean a certificate of insurance on file with the building before you can even get through the door. That is the practical reason we ask for yours up front.
Tidiness is not decoration on this work. Cable dressed and labelled, fixings correct for the substrate, the display level against a ceiling grid that may itself not be level, packaging removed from the premises, and a photograph on the ticket before you leave.
Putting your name in
Call (832) 359-2425 and ask for installer intake, or send the same details via the contact page. Tell us:
- The business name you invoice under, and whether general liability is already in force
- Your mounting experience, and whether any of it has been commercial
- The ZIP codes you will genuinely drive to
- Whether you can work early-morning or after-hours windows for retail and restaurant sites
- What your vehicle carries, including ladders tall enough for a high public-space mount
- Whether you terminate low-voltage cable, and what you have run
Compensation and terms are discussed at the interview and depend on the scope of work and your experience. We do not publish rates, because a bedroom bracket and an after-hours menu-board fit-out are not the same job and quoting one number for both would be dishonest.
