TV Mount Subcontractor Jobs in Houston, TX 77083
Alief and Mission Bend are built almost entirely out of one kind of house, and that single fact makes 77083 the most predictable mounting route on our west Houston map — and the one where a slow installer loses the most ground.
What a full day in 77083 looks like end to end
Drive the streets off Beechnut, Synott, Boone and Bissonnet and the pattern repeats: one-storey brick homes on slab, built largely between the mid-seventies and the late eighties, four bedrooms, attached garage, modest front yard, a fenced back yard with a slab patio. Subdivision after subdivision of it, from Mission Bend across to the Dairy Ashford side.
For an installer that repetition is worth real money in time rather than in rate. You learn the floor plans. You learn that the living room usually backs onto the garage or the hallway, that the attic hatch is nearly always in the garage or a bedroom closet, and that the outside hose bib tells you roughly where the plumbing wall is. By the third week you are laying out a room in a couple of minutes that would take you fifteen in an unfamiliar ZIP.
Distances are short and the streets are laid out in loops, so the drive time between two addresses is usually small. What eats the day instead is the work itself getting bigger once you are inside — and it does, often, because these are family houses with more than one room that wants a display.
Single-storey attics change what you can offer
This is the technical heart of the route and the reason installers who can finish a wall properly do well here. A one-storey house on slab has an accessible attic sitting directly above every room in it. That means the concealed run — the thing that separates a mounted television from a finished installation — is available on almost every job instead of on some of them.
The standard sequence is unglamorous and it works:
- Locate the bay above the display and the bay behind the equipment, and confirm both from below before anybody goes up.
- Open two old-work low-voltage brackets, top and bottom, in the same cavity.
- Drop from the attic with a weighted line or glow rods, watching for the top plate, fire blocking and any insulation dam.
- Pull in-wall rated cable only. Standard flat cable stapled behind drywall is not acceptable work and we do not accept it.
- Handle power the right way: a listed in-wall power relocation kit, or a proper outlet installed by the appropriate licensed trade. Running an appliance cord inside a wall is never an option on our orders.
Two Houston realities sit on top of that sequence. From roughly May to September an attic in this part of town is brutally hot, and the honest answer is to plan attic work for the earliest appointment of the day, carry water, and never work up there to the point where your judgement goes. The second is texture: walls in this vintage of house are usually sprayed with a knockdown or orange-peel finish, so any patch you leave behind has to be textured and not just filled flat. Installers who own a small texture kit and know how to feather an edge produce close-out photos that end the conversation.
Multi-room visits and houses with everybody home
Alief and Mission Bend have a lot of full houses — several generations, several schedules, several televisions. The practical consequence is that a work order written for a living room genuinely often becomes a conversation about a bedroom and a game room too.
That is an opportunity and a trap at the same time, and the rule is firm: you do not price additional work at the door. If the customer wants more than the order covers, you call the office, we handle scope and pricing, and you carry on with what was authorised while that happens. Installers who freelance a side deal in somebody’s living room are removed from the list, without a second conversation.
The other thing these visits ask of you is ordinary courtesy under mild chaos. There will be children in the room. There will be furniture nobody can move without you. There will be a family member who wants to watch the whole drill sequence and ask what is behind the wall. None of that is a problem for an installer who explains what is about to happen before it happens, and all of it is a problem for one who does not.
Alief is one of the most linguistically diverse parts of Harris County. No second language is required to be dispatched here, and none of our orders assume one. What is required is that you slow down enough to be sure the customer actually agreed to the height, the position and the cable route — a nod is not confirmation.
The bar for getting dispatched in Alief
Everything below has to be true before a ticket is released to you, and all of it is verified rather than taken on trust.
| Requirement | Why it exists |
|---|---|
| General liability insurance in your own business name | You are drilling into other people’s property under our work order. No certificate, no dispatch. |
| Signed subcontract agreement and W-9 | This is a business-to-business arrangement, not employment, and the terms are written rather than assumed. |
| Valid licence and insured vehicle | You are driving to customer addresses all day with their property in the back. |
| Scope discipline | EVOTECH IT LLC is a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor. Low-voltage work is ours; line-voltage, structural or gas work goes to the correct licensed trade, every time. |
| Photographic close-out | Wall condition before, cable path during, finished display after. It protects you as much as it protects the customer. |
We have been working this side of Houston since roughly 2004 and hold a five-star rating, which exists because of what the last installer through the door did, not because of anything written on a website. That is the whole reason the bar does not move.
Apply to run Alief and Mission Bend work
Phone (832) 359-2425, or leave your information on the contact page and we will call you back. Tell us how long you have been mounting, whether you are comfortable in an attic, whether you patch and texture your own openings, what you drive, and which days and evenings you can genuinely commit to.
What the arrangement is worth gets settled at the interview, according to the scope being run and what you bring to it. We do not sell leads, charge for territory, or require you to buy equipment from us. If you also do cabling or camera work, mention it — the same houses on this route buy both.
