Subcontract TV Mounting Work — Katy, TX 77492
Katy is not short of people who will hang a television. It is short of installers who finish in one visit, on a wall that was never going to be simple, and never generate the follow-up phone call. 77492 is one of Katy’s mailing ZIPs, so this page skips the tour and sets out the standard EVOTECH IT LLC actually hires to.
The installer this list is built around
Everything below describes one person, and it is worth being direct about who that is before you spend ten minutes reading.
- They own the outcome rather than the task. If it reads crooked from the couch, it comes down, regardless of what the level said.
- They stop and make a phone call when the wall disagrees with the work order, instead of improvising and hoping.
- They talk to homeowners like a professional standing in somebody’s house, because that is precisely what is happening.
- They keep a vehicle and a personal presentation that do not need apologizing for on a driveway.
- They have five or more years behind them — though a careful installer three years in, with photographs and references, beats a careless twenty-year veteran on this list every time.
Because 77492 is a mailing ZIP rather than a residential area, many people reach this page from a box number on their own paperwork. The work itself dispatches across the wider Katy and west Houston footprint.
Most callbacks are a correct method used on the wrong wall
Very few failures come from clumsiness. They come from an installer applying a technique that would have been perfect two houses down the street. Around Katy you will meet every one of these, occasionally inside a single property.
| Surface | What is genuinely behind it | What that changes |
|---|---|---|
| Painted drywall | Wood framing, usually at sixteen inches | Structural lags into framing you have proved exists. A drywall anchor is never a display fixing. |
| Brick veneer | An air gap, then sheathing and framing | Fix into the body of the brick rather than a soft joint, and add the gap into your bolt length calculation. |
| Manufactured stone | Cement board on a framed chase | The facing carries nothing at all. You are passing through it to reach structure, and every fastener gets longer. |
| Solid masonry chimney | Brick or block with a flue somewhere inside | Rotary hammer, dust capture, and a deliberate decision about the flue location before you commit to a hole. |
| Shiplap or plank over drywall | Extra depth standing proud of the studs | Fastener lengths all change and a low-profile mount may no longer sit where the customer expects. |
| Steel stud partition | Light-gauge framing in commercial space | Entirely different hardware and a lower safe working load. Heavy displays need backing or a floor-supported solution. |
| Concrete near a slab edge | Possible post-tension cable | Never drill on assumption. Where there is doubt the correct tool is the telephone, not a bigger bit. |
Knowing which of those you are standing in front of, in the first few minutes, is the single most valuable skill on this list.
Damage happens. What happens next is the test
More than twenty years in Texas homes and we have never met an installer who has not marked something. Nobody is pretending otherwise. What separates people is the following ten minutes.
Say it while you are still standing there
Photograph it, tell the customer plainly in their own hallway, and ring the office before you drive away. Damage disclosed on site is a repair and a slightly awkward afternoon. Damage discovered after you have gone is a trust problem, and trust is the entire reason the 5.0-star record exists.
Return work belongs to the person who did it
If a fixing, a cable dress or an alignment is not right, you go back to it. That obligation came with accepting the ticket and it does not expire when you leave the driveway.
The pattern is what matters
One callback is a bad day and everybody has them. A run of avoidable ones changes how many windows you are offered, because each one is paid for twice and apologized for once.
What you say, and what you never say, inside a customer’s home
On somebody’s floor you are EVOTECH. A short list of rules exists for exactly that reason and none of them are flexible.
- No price is discussed, adjusted, hinted at or promised on site. Anything commercial routes back to the office, every time.
- No commitments about next week, about availability, or about what another crew could do.
- No opinion volunteered about another company’s workmanship beyond the plain facts visible in front of you.
- No photographs of a customer’s home posted anywhere. Images you take belong to the job file and nowhere else.
- Confirm position, height and cable route out loud before every penetration — and repeat it when a room contains two decision-makers with two opinions.
- Leave the space cleaner than you found it. It is remembered far longer than the mount.
What the work pays is settled during the interview, according to what the job involves and how experienced you are. We publish no figures, because a number advertised on a page becomes a number argued about in a kitchen.
Displays are the door, not the room
Our license covers a good deal more than brackets, and the territory runs from Katy through the west side of Houston and down into Sugar Land, Richmond, Fulshear and Cypress. As wider scope comes up in an installer’s own area it gets offered outward — structured cabling, camera systems, in-wall and in-ceiling audio, and the smaller commercial tickets that arrive along the highway corridors.
None of that is granted on request. It follows a record: a stack of completed display work with photographs attached, inside the window, and an empty column where the follow-up calls would have been. The standard on this page is the whole qualification.
How to put your name forward
Open it with a call to (832) 359-2425, or a short note through our contact page. Lead with the fact that you are an installer so it reaches the right desk.
What is useful to include: the shape of your experience, the largest panel you have hung and how you handled the lift, whether you carry general liability and with whom, whether you are prepared to consent to a background check, and an honest description of your availability rather than an optimistic one. If you also run cabling or camera work, put that in the first sentence — it changes the conversation immediately.
