Subcontract TV Installation Work in Missouri City, TX

EVOTECH IT LLC is adding independent installers to its Fort Bend rotation, and 77459 is a territory that rewards people who can think. One street is a golf-course house framed in 1974; the neighbourhood next door went up forty years later. Both want a screen on the wall by Saturday.

Who this is for, and who it is not for

This is an opening for experienced, independently insured installers who already run their own small operation and want a steadier flow of work orders without paying for leads. It is not a training programme and it is not a recruitment drive for helpers.

Three traits separate the people who do well in this part of Fort Bend. They diagnose before they drill, because a sizeable share of the housing here predates the framing conventions most installers grew up with. They can tell a homeowner that what they have asked for is a bad idea, and do it without condescension. And they finish — baseboard back on, cable dressed, drywall dust gone, no promise to return with a wall plate.

It is the wrong fit if you need someone senior on site to make the decisions for you, if your insurance is something you intend to sort out later, or if a customer’s dining table looks like a staging area to you. EVOTECH IT LLC is a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor with a two-decade record in this county and a 5.0 star rating; every work order you accept either spends that or builds it.

A 1975 Quail Valley den and a 2021 Sienna great room are two different problems

77459 is unusually split. Quail Valley and the streets around the golf course went up in the seventies; Sienna, Lake Olympia and the newer developments on the Riverstone side belong to a completely different era of construction. Walking in without adjusting is how an installer puts a lag bolt into a surprise.

The older side of the ZIP

Expect full-brick fireplace walls rather than thin veneer, framing that is not reliably on sixteen-inch centres, genuine 1970s dimensional lumber, popcorn ceilings you must not knock debris off, and panelling that was sheetrocked over in the eighties — which changes both your fastener length and how much you trust what the finder is telling you. Attic access is frequently a single hallway hatch with a pull-down ladder that has seen better decades. Some of these dens are masonry the full height, and the honest answer to a homeowner is sometimes that this mount is going into brick, here is what that means for the holes and here is what cannot be undone afterwards.

The newer side of the ZIP

Sienna-era houses are what you would expect: slab, engineered trusses, tidy framing, a structured media panel in a closet, and a niche above the fireplace designed for a screen two sizes smaller than the one in the box. Controlled entry and HOA contractor rules are common on this side, so the gate code and any badge requirement travel with the work order rather than being your problem at the kerb.

Commercial orders along the Highway 6 and Fort Bend Parkway side bring their own expectations: a certificate of insurance filed with the property manager, access outside business hours, cabling run in a way that will survive a walkthrough, and nothing drilled until somebody with authority has pointed at the wall. If that is not your world, say so at interview and we keep you on residential.

The remount category deserves a word. Fort Bend has had a lot of cheap mounting done in it, and a share of our work here is putting right a bracket that was hung on anchors, a screen that was never levelled to the room, or a cable that was simply tucked behind the console. Treat those calls carefully: the customer has already been disappointed once.

Windows, routing and how a week fills

Orders are released with an arrival window rather than a single clock time, because traffic between Highway 6, the Fort Bend Parkway and Sienna Parkway does not respect a fifteen-minute promise. You hold the window and you call ahead if you are slipping. A call at twenty to two is a customer who waits; a call at quarter past two is a complaint.

You tell us your days and we route to them. Most installers here take a block of the week rather than all seven, and a good number take Saturdays deliberately, because that is when the multi-room orders land. Declining an order carries no penalty. Accepting one and dropping it on the morning does.

We cluster where the calendar allows. Missouri City sits against Sugar Land, Stafford and Fresno, so a day is normally built as a tight loop instead of three corners of the county, and when a second customer in the same subdivision books the same afternoon you get first refusal on it.

Anything a customer asks for beyond the written scope goes back through dispatch to be priced before you begin it. We are not asking you to be a salesperson. We are asking you not to agree to unpriced work while standing in somebody’s living room.

Applying, and what the conversation actually covers

Reach us on (832) 359-2425 or through the contact form and say you are applying as an installation subcontractor for Missouri City. The interview is short and practical. Expect to be asked:

  • How you would approach a 65-inch screen over a full-brick fireplace in a 1970s den
  • What you do when the stud finder disagrees with itself on a wall that was panelled then sheetrocked
  • Your method for concealing power legally, and what you refuse to do
  • Whether you terminate low-voltage cable, and what you have actually run
  • Your general liability position and who the carrier is
  • The counties and the days you will genuinely commit to

Rates are not published and are not negotiated over the phone before we know what you do. Compensation is agreed at the interview and reflects the scope of work you take on and the experience you bring to it. Bring a certificate of insurance, photo identification for the background check, and if you have them, pictures of three finished walls you are proud of.

Applicants who clear intake normally run a first order alongside one of our lead installers so both sides can see how the other works before anything becomes routine.

Frequently asked questions

I work almost entirely in homes. Will I be pushed into commercial jobs?

No. Say so at interview and your rotation stays residential. The light commercial work along Highway 6 goes to installers who want it and who are comfortable with property-manager paperwork, after-hours access and ladder work in an occupied building.

How do you expect brick and rough stone fireplaces to be handled?

Carefully and honestly. Masonry bits with water, anchors rated for the substrate, holes placed in the mortar line where that is the better structural and cosmetic choice, and a conversation with the homeowner before the first hole about what cannot be undone. If the wall is not suitable, we would far rather you said so than made it fit.

Can I keep my territory inside Fort Bend County?

Yes. Installers set their own boundary and we route to it. Several of our Fort Bend subcontractors take nothing outside a fifteen-mile radius of home, which is a perfectly workable territory in this part of the county.

What paperwork do I need in before the first work order?

A certificate of general liability insurance naming EVOTECH IT LLC as certificate holder, your business details for 1099 purposes, vehicle insurance, identification for the background check, and confirmation of your available days. Nothing dispatches until that file is complete.
