Houston, TX 77063 – Installer Recruitment

TV Mount Subcontractor Jobs in Houston, TX 77063

EVOTECH IT LLC routes television mounting work to independent installers across 77063 – Briarmeadow, Tanglewilde, Ashcroft and the condo and apartment stock either side of Gessner. This page is written for installers rather than customers: what the tickets look like inside the Beltway, what your van has to carry, and what has to be on file before an address is released to you.

What a dispatch day inside the Beltway actually looks like

77063 is compact. You can cross the whole ZIP in ten minutes at the right hour, which sounds like a gift until you have parked three times, carried a 65-inch panel past a locked courtyard gate, and waited on a leasing office to find a key.

The eight o’clock is frequently a garden apartment off Fondren or Rampart. A renter, a lease that says the wall comes back the way it was found, a bracket bought online at midnight, and a chase above the firebox with no framing in it anywhere the bracket wants to land. That hour goes into the decision rather than the drill: backing plate, relocate to the adjacent wall, or surface channel and nothing cut at all. An installer who can explain those three options in ninety seconds, without sounding like he is selling, is the one who does not collect a complaint.

Mid-morning usually pulls you into the single-storey brick houses in Briarmeadow, Tanglewilde and the streets around Ashcroft. Nineteen-sixties construction, eight-foot ceilings, and a masonry chimney breast that will carry anything you fasten to it properly and punish you permanently for every hole you put in the wrong place.

Afternoons in this ZIP tilt commercial. There is a steady run of small suites and independent shops along Richmond, Westheimer and the Gessner corridor near Woodlake Square – a display over a reception desk, a pair of screens in a waiting room, a board that has to be live before the evening trade walks in. Those appointments are built around the business hours, not around your route.

Two things consume a 77063 day faster than the mounting does: parking and permission. Budget for both when you tell dispatch how many stops you can take. Four honest tickets finished clean beats six booked and two rescheduled, and we route repeat work on that basis.

Four kinds of building you will be let into in 77063

This ZIP has no single housing type, and the wall behind the drywall changes completely depending on which of the four you are standing in.

1960s and 1970s brick ranch houses

Briarmeadow and Tanglewilde are full of them. Expect solid masonry at the fireplace, real dimensional lumber behind the drywall, an accessible attic above a flat ceiling, and paint layers deep enough to hide an old patch. Masonry bits, sleeve anchors and a hammer drill are not optional here.

Garden apartment complexes

Two and three storey walk-ups built through the seventies and eighties sit right across the ZIP. Demising walls are often concrete block or a rated assembly, interior partitions are thin, and the fireplace chase – where there is one – is a hollow drywall box around a metal firebox. Add a lease restriction on top and the correct answer is sometimes a smaller fixed mount lower down on a framed wall.

Condominium and townhome courts

The mid-rise and townhome communities near Woodlake and along the Gessner side bring their own rules: a certificate of insurance on file before a contractor works, a service entrance rather than the lobby, and a management office that decides whether you can fasten into anything at all.

Small commercial suites

Strip retail and office suites in 77063 are usually steel stud with a single layer of board, sometimes a block back wall, and a suspended ceiling that hides the easiest cable route on the ticket. A full-motion arm on a steel stud partition needs the right toggle or a spanning backer – never a plastic anchor, whatever the box in the customer’s hand claims.

What has to be in the van before we release a 77063 address

This is subcontract work. You arrive complete, because there is no warehouse to swing past and no lead installer carrying your spares.

  • Two ladders. A six-foot platform for apartment ceilings and something taller for the odd vaulted den. Half the buildings here have no lift and stairs you cannot turn a boxed 75-inch panel on.
  • Hammer drill and SDS bits plus sleeve anchors and masonry screws sized for brick and block. The 1960s chimney breasts and the block demising walls both demand it.
  • A stud finder you trust, a rare-earth magnet and an inspection camera. On a hollow firebox chase the camera settles the argument in two minutes and saves a hole you cannot take back.
  • Levels and a laser. A four-foot level for the plate, a torpedo for the arm, and something that puts a line on a wall when the ceiling is out by an inch – which in this building stock it often is.
  • Fish rods, glow rods and a flexible bit for getting behind board where there is room to do it.
  • A listed in-wall power relocation kit. A power cord does not go inside a wall. Ever. Carry the rated kit or run the outlet on the surface.
  • Paintable surface raceway. The single most useful thing in a rental-heavy ZIP, because it is the honest answer when the lease says no holes.
  • A patch kit. Mesh, compound, a sanding sponge and a small texture can. You will not always need it, and the day you do you will not have time to go and buy it.
  • Drop cloths, a vacuum, shoe covers and furniture sliders. Apartments are small and the carpet is somebody’s deposit.
  • Spare brackets and leads in several lengths, plus ties and a cable comb.

One local detail worth a line: signal drops out in parking garages and interior corridors here. Screenshot the ticket, the gate code and the phone number before you leave the van.

Insurance, licensing and the parts that are not negotiable

EVOTECH IT LLC has worked low-voltage in this part of Texas since around 2004, holds a low-voltage contractor licence, carries insurance and is rated 5.0 stars. Every ticket you accept puts you inside that, so the list below is fixed.

  • General liability in your own business name, with a certificate naming EVOTECH IT LLC as certificate holder, on file before dispatch. In 77063 you will also meet complexes and condo boards that want themselves added as additional insured – use an agent who can turn that around the same day, because the appointment will not wait.
  • Vehicle cover on whatever you work out of.
  • Our licence, our specification. A bracket on a wall is a bracket on a wall. The moment a ticket involves pulling or terminating low-voltage cable on our behalf, it sits under our licence and is done our way.
  • A cleared background check. You are being let into homes and into occupied businesses. There is no version of this where that step is skipped.
  • The vetted installer is the installer who works. Bring a second pair of hands to carry a panel up three flights if you like. Do not send somebody in your place.
  • Nothing priced on site. If the job grows – a second screen, a soundbar, a run to another room – it goes back through dispatch first, so the customer gets one written number from one company.
  • A photograph of the finished wall on the ticket before you drive away, plus the room left cleaner than you found it.

Damage gets reported the same day, to us and to the customer, in plain words. An installer who tells us about a cracked corner bead keeps working. One who hides it does not.

How to put your name in

Call (832) 359-2425 and ask for installer intake, or send the same information through the contact page. Short and factual is better than a resume:

  • How long you have been mounting and roughly how many panels a month you do now
  • Whether 77063 is inside your normal driving line, and which neighbouring ZIPs are too
  • What your vehicle carries, specifically whether you have a hammer drill and masonry anchors
  • Whether you will take apartment and condo tickets, commercial suites, or both
  • Whether general liability is already in force or you are arranging it
  • The days and hours you will genuinely commit to, including evenings if you want renter work

Compensation is discussed at the interview and depends on the scope of the work and your experience. A flat panel on a framed bedroom wall and a full-motion arm over a 1965 masonry firebox with a power relocation are not the same job, and we are not going to pretend they are on a web page. If the fit looks right, the first ticket is run alongside one of our installers and we look at the finished wall together.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a joining fee, a monthly charge or a cost per ticket?

No. The work comes from EVOTECH’s own customers – people who called us or booked through our site – so there is nothing to buy and nothing to bid against. You accept the tickets that suit you and pass on the ones that do not, and passing costs you nothing.

Can I take only apartment and condo work and leave the fireplaces alone?

Yes. Tell us at intake what you will and will not take and we route to it. Plenty of good installers in this ZIP build a full week out of framed-wall mounts, soundbars and renter-friendly surface runs and never touch a masonry chimney breast. What we cannot use is somebody who accepts a fireplace ticket and works out on site that it was beyond him.

A complex wants a certificate of insurance before it will let me work. Who handles that?

Your own policy, your own agent. You are an independent business, and the certificate the property manager wants is issued off your general liability. Ring dispatch when a building asks for something unusual and we will tell you what we have provided at that address before.

Do you route evenings and Saturdays in 77063?

Availability is yours to set, and a lot of the rental and condo customers in this ZIP genuinely want after-work or weekend windows. Commit only to what you will actually turn up for. A subcontractor who cancels at ten in the morning costs the customer far more than one who told us on Sunday that he works Tuesday to Saturday.

Plenty of households here do not speak English at home. Does that matter?

It is one of the most linguistically mixed ZIPs in the city and no, we do not require a second language. What we ask is patience and a translation app on your phone. One rule: anything safety-related – weight, anchoring, what is inside a wall – gets confirmed with the adult who is paying, not passed through a child.
