Hiring Installers — East Richmond

TV Installer Jobs in Richmond, TX 77407

East Richmond is young, dense and mostly two storeys tall, which means the wall you are asked to work on usually has a bedroom above it rather than an attic. EVOTECH IT LLC is hiring installers and insured subcontractors for this corner of Fort Bend County.

Aliana, Grand Mission and the Harlem Road corridor

77407 sits between Richmond proper and the Mission Bend edge of Houston, and it filled in fast. Aliana, Grand Mission, Lakemont and the newer streets either side of Harlem Road and West Bellfort are the heart of it, with the Westpark Tollway and the Grand Parkway carrying people out of it every morning and back into it every evening.

The housing is young, tightly spaced and vertical. Narrow side yards, two and three storey elevations, garages set close to the property line, and floor plans that put the family room at the back of the ground floor with a game room directly overhead.

That vertical geometry, more than anything else about this ZIP, is what defines the work. It is also why an installer who is excellent in single-storey ranch homes can have a genuinely bad first week here without understanding why.

The ground-floor wall with a bedroom above it

On a two-storey plan the wall the customer wants the screen on usually has the second floor over it, not an attic. There is no hatch above you to drop from, and that removes the method most installers lean on.

What is left is honest wall work.

Reading the cavity first

Find the studs, find the fire blocking, and account for what the builder put in that bay: PEX, romex behind nail plates, sometimes a return chase. In a house this new, assuming is expensive.

Two openings, not four

A low-voltage bracket high behind the screen and a second one low behind the console, with a fish between them, is the whole job when it goes well. Every extra hole you cut is a patch you now own.

Power, properly

An extension cord inside a wall is not an option on any ticket we issue. You either install a listed in-wall power relocation kit or the job needs a licensed electrician for a new receptacle. There is no third answer, and we will back you when you tell a customer that.

Upstairs and the stairwell

Game room walls do have attic above them, which is the easy half of the house — though the attic over a game room is tight and hot. Stairwell walls are the opposite: reach and ladder footing on stepped ground is the hazard, and if you cannot set a ladder safely there, the answer is to stop, not to improvise.

Builder warranty, fresh paint and the price of a sloppy patch

Many of these homes are only a few years old and a good number are still inside a builder warranty. The walls are flat, the texture is consistent, and the paint has not been touched since handover. Every one of those facts raises the standard of your patch rather than lowering it.

Match the texture that is already there instead of the one you are used to spraying. Photograph the wall before you open it and after you close it. If a mount plate will cover a mistake, that is luck and not a method, and we would rather know about the mistake than discover it from the customer.

If something does go wrong — a cracked tile, a blowout around a bracket, a bit that wandered — you tell the office the same day. Callbacks handled quickly cost far less than callbacks discovered in a review, and a technician who reports their own errors keeps getting tickets.

Commuter households and a calendar that tilts late

This is a commuter ZIP. A large share of these households have two adults driving out toward the tollway in the morning, which pushes demand into the last window of the day and across the weekend.

Practically, that means the six o’clock slot is the most requested one we have, and an installer who can reliably hold two evenings a week is more useful to this route than one who is only free at ten on a Tuesday. It also means punctuality carries more weight than usual: a customer who left work early for a window has already spent something to be there.

Make the confirmation call before you roll. Verify the screen size, the wall, whether the mount is already on site, and whether anyone needs to move furniture before you arrive. Ten minutes of phone work protects the whole evening.

The doorstep conversation in a mixed-language neighbourhood

This is one of the more internationally mixed parts of Fort Bend County, and plenty of households here run in more than one language. The practical instruction is simple: speak plainly, never speak over anyone, and check understanding before you drill rather than after.

Say what you are about to do in ordinary words. Tall wall, screen at this height, two small openings, cable inside the wall, patch and texture to match. Show the height with your hand on the wall and let them look at it from where they actually sit. Assumptions made silently are the root of most disputes in this trade, in any language.

If you speak a second language, tell us at the interview. It is genuinely useful on this route and we will use it when scheduling.

Getting onto the 77407 rotation

The list is short. Hold your own liability policy if you work as a sub. Bring a vehicle you can depend on, ladders rated for an interior wall two storeys tall, a fish kit you trust, the ability to texture a patch so it disappears, a current driver licence and consent to a background check. We are licensed and insured on the low-voltage side, have been at it in this market since around 2004, and are rated 5.0 stars — those checks are how that stays true.

Pay is set at the interview against scope and experience. An upstairs mount with an attic over it and a ground-floor fish with a power relocation are plainly not the same afternoon.

Ring (832) 359-2425 and open with installer work, or put INSTALLER at the top of the contact form. What we want to hear: how many two-storey fishes you have behind you, whether you texture your own patches, and which evenings you can genuinely hold open.

Frequently asked questions

Why do you keep asking about evening availability?
Because the households on this route are mostly out during the day. The last window of the afternoon is the one customers ask for first, and technicians who can hold two evenings a week simply get offered more work here.
There is no attic above the wall. What is the accepted path?
Work inside the cavity: a bracket high, a bracket low, a fish between them, and respect for the fire blocking and anything the builder ran in that bay. Cutting extra access holes to save five minutes is not the trade-off we want you making.
Can I run the television power cord inside the wall?
No. Use a listed in-wall power relocation kit, or the job needs a licensed electrician to add a receptacle. If a customer pushes back, say it is a listing and safety matter and call the office. You will be supported.
The house is under builder warranty. Does that change how I work?
It raises the bar on patching and documentation. Photograph before and after, match the existing texture rather than your habitual one, and report any damage the same day so we can put it right properly instead of arguing about it later.
How should I handle a language barrier at the door?
Slow down and use plain words, show the height physically on the wall, and confirm agreement before any hole is made. Never rely on a nod alone for a decision that cannot be undone.
Do I have to texture and paint my own patches?
You texture. Paint is scoped per ticket and is not automatically included, so do not promise it at the door — check the ticket, and if the customer expects paint, call before you commit us to it.

Can you fish a downstairs wall cleanly?

Tell us how many two-storey fishes you have done and which evenings you can hold. We will take it from there.
