TV Installer Jobs in Rosenberg, TX 77469 (Brazos Town Center and the New Subdivisions)
Most of 77469 east of Reading Road was farmland twenty years ago. Bonbrook Plantation, Summer Lakes, Walnut Creek, Fairpark Village and the streets feeding Brazos Town Center are production-built houses under two decades old, and the people inside them are often hanging their first television on a wall they just finished closing on. EVOTECH IT LLC subcontracts that work, and we want installers who would like a steady run of it.
What a week on this route actually looks like
A 77469 day is short drives and tall ladders. These subdivisions were platted in loops, so three or four stops often sit within a mile of each other, and the time you are not spending on the freeway goes into the work instead.
The people calling are usually new to the county. Lamar CISD has been opening campuses out here for fifteen years straight, families follow the schools, and six weeks after closing they look up at a blank wall over a fireplace. That changes the tone of a visit. You are frequently the first person to put a hole in a wall somebody just bought, and you will be asked several questions you already know the answer to before you unpack anything.
| What the ticket says | What it usually becomes on site |
|---|---|
| Mount a TV over the fireplace | A niche measurement, a heat check, and an honest talk about the wall beside it |
| Hang one bedroom television | Two or three units the same visit, because the boxes are still in the garage |
| Hide the wires | An in-wall rated power kit, a recessed box, and the media gear relocated |
| Connect the new soundbar | HDMI-ARC sorted out and a remote nobody has ever programmed |
Saturdays carry the heaviest load here because both adults in the house tend to commute out of Fort Bend during the week. Installers who can hold a weekend block see the most consistent flow of tickets.
Production framing, post-tension slabs and radiant-barrier attics
The upside of a builder neighborhood is repetition. Once you have worked three houses from the same builder in Summer Lakes, you can predict where the studs land, where the firebox header sits and which closet holds the low-voltage enclosure. The downside is that every mistake repeats too, so we are specific about a few things.
- The slab is post-tension. Cables run through it under load. Nobody on an EVOTECH ticket saw-cuts, cores or anchors into a floor slab in these neighborhoods. If a run seems to need it, the answer is a different route, not a different drill.
- Elevations differ on the same street. Brick veneer on the front, fiber cement on the sides is common out here, and an exterior penetration through one is nothing like the other. Match your sealant and your bit to the material in front of you.
- Attics are decked and lined with radiant barrier. They are survivable early and brutal by one in the afternoon. Plan any attic leg of the job for the first stop of the day.
- The structured wiring can in the closet is often an empty box. Builders install the enclosure and the conduit and leave it unpopulated. Photograph it and flag it. That is a real network job for our office to quote, not something you improvise.
Interior walls are usually two-by-four at sixteen inches on center, which sounds simple until you hit the engineered header over a firebox or a chase that was framed around a flue. Confirm with a fastener, not with a stud finder alone.
The niche above the gas fireplace is the whole job
Builders in this ZIP framed thousands of recessed media niches above direct-vent gas fireplaces, and most of them were sized for a television that no longer exists. A customer who bought a seventy-five inch panel is holding something wider than the opening, and that conversation happens on your time.
Three things decide the answer. How deep is the recess, because an articulating arm needs room to fold and most niches do not have it. How hot does the wall above the firebox actually get after an hour of burn, because heat kills panels slowly and the failure will be blamed on the mount. And where is the blocking, because the framing above a firebox is a header assembly rather than a friendly stud pattern.
Where the niche does work, a low-profile or in-wall recessed mount plus a rated in-wall power relocation kit gives the flush look people out here ask for. Under no circumstances does an extension cord go inside a wall on one of our tickets.
New-home warranties and architectural rules you have to respect
A large share of these houses are still inside their builder warranty period, and some are inside the structural coverage for a decade. That matters to you because a penetration in the wrong place can hand the builder an argument to deny a future claim, and the homeowner will remember who made the hole.
- Anything through an exterior wall, a roof plane or a firewall between a garage and living space gets documented with photos before and after, and gets sealed properly.
- Anything visible from the street – a dish, an exterior camera, surface conduit on a front elevation – is an architectural committee question in Bonbrook Plantation, Summer Lakes and most of the gated sections. We ask the customer to clear it, and we do not install past an unresolved objection.
- Gate codes, guest lists and community app access come from the homeowner before the appointment, not from you standing at a keypad at nine in the morning.
None of this is paperwork for its own sake. It is the reason EVOTECH IT LLC still holds a five star rating after twenty years in Fort Bend County.
How dispatch reaches you and what we expect on arrival
Work comes to you as a scoped ticket with an address, a window, the equipment the customer says they have and whatever photos we already collected. You confirm or decline. We would rather hear a decline early than have a customer waiting in a driveway.
On arrival: shoe covers on, drop cloth down, walk the wall with the homeowner before a tool comes out, and agree on the exact height and the exact wall. Photograph the space before you start. When you are finished, photograph the result, walk the customer through the picture, sound and remote, and get the sign-off in the app.
One rule has no exceptions. You never quote a price at the door. EVOTECH provides free on-site estimates and itemized written quotes, and that comes out of our office so the numbers stay consistent across every crew. If the customer wants more than the ticket covers, you flag it, we price it, and the added work goes on a new authorization.
Insurance, credentials and the kit we check before a first work order
EVOTECH IT LLC is a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor and has been working this part of Texas since around 2004. Subcontractors work under our name, which is why the checks below are not negotiable.
- Current general liability coverage and proof of vehicle insurance.
- A completed W-9 and a business entity or sole proprietor record that matches it.
- Any credential you hold that touches the licensed side of low-voltage work. Camera, access control and alarm work runs under our license and our supervision, never freelance.
- A clean vehicle, presentable appearance and a phone you actually answer.
Tool expectations for this route: a reliable stud finder plus a confirming probe, an SDS or hammer drill for brick and mortar, a four foot level, laser if you own one, fish sticks and low-voltage brackets, an oscillating tool for clean cut-ins, torque control on lag work, drop cloths and a vacuum, and a ladder that safely reaches a two-story ledge. Bring your own patching compound. Somebody will always ask.
Applying for 77469 work
Call (832) 359-2425 or send your details through our contact form. Tell us where you are based, how long you have been installing, what you carry, whether you run solo or with a helper, and which days you can genuinely hold. If you also do network drops, camera work or in-wall audio, say so – the crossover work on this route is real.
Compensation is discussed at the interview and depends on scope and experience. Posting a rate here would mislead somebody, because the right number shifts with what an installer can actually do and what a particular house demands of them.
