Subcontract TV Installer Work in Richmond, TX 77407

Aliana, Harvest Green, Grand Mission Estates and the neighbourhoods either side of the Westpark corridor put more new televisions on more new walls than almost anywhere we route. EVOTECH IT LLC is opening 77407 assignments to independent installers who can hold a window and finish clean.

Why 77407 is one of the busiest mounting territories we route

Very little in 77407 is old. The neighbourhoods either side of Grand Mission Boulevard and West Airport went up largely within the last two decades and several are still filling in. That single fact shapes every assignment in the ZIP.

New construction means a steady stream of people moving in with televisions still boxed. It means second and third screens — a primary bedroom, a game room, a study that became a den — rather than one hero wall. Multi-generational households are common here, which frequently adds a downstairs suite with its own panel. And because so many houses share a handful of floor plans, a route through Aliana or Harvest Green can have you solving the same geometry three times in a day, at speed.

Two practical consequences follow. The first is proximity: assignments cluster tightly, so travel between stops is measured in minutes rather than the half-hours you would burn further west. The second is access friction — narrow streets with cars parked both sides, ongoing builder traffic, controlled-entry sections and HOA contractor badges. The installer who does well here is not the fastest driller. It is the one who parked sensibly, got through the gate without a phone call, and started on time.

What a single assignment actually asks of you

Take a typical one: 75-inch panel, second-floor game room, full-motion arm, and a customer who wants the console and the cable box out of sight with no power lead showing.

You confirm the evening before and collect the gate code. You arrive inside the window and park where the neighbours can still get out. Drop cloths go down before anything comes off the truck. You locate framing and confirm it twice, because these are engineered trusses and a guess is expensive. You establish screen height with the customer sitting where they will actually sit, not standing in the doorway. You use a rated in-wall power relocation kit instead of anything creative. Then you cut, fish, mount, dress the cable, test every input, show them how the arm travels, put the furniture back, vacuum, photograph the finished wall and close the assignment before you drive off the street.

Then you do it again two streets over, for a family with the same floor plan and an entirely different opinion about height.

Because the plans repeat here, patterns are worth banking: where the niche is framed, where the pre-wire lands, which wall backs onto a bathroom, how each builder ran the structured panel. Installers who learn that move faster without cutting a single corner, which is precisely the kind of speed we want.

The standard every assignment has to hit, and what a callback costs

A subcontractor network is only worth having if the customer cannot tell which installer came. Ours is measured against a fixed set of expectations.

ExpectationWhat it means in practice
Into structure, alwaysLagged into framing or approved backing. Drywall anchors do not hold a television, whatever the box claims
Level and centred to the roomChecked with a real level and referenced to the wall the customer looks at, not to a crooked mantel
Power done legallyRated relocation kits only. Never mains flex or an extension lead inside a cavity
Cable dressed and concealedNothing hanging, nothing pinched behind the bracket, a service loop left where a human can reach it
Tested in front of the customerEvery source switched through, sound confirmed, remote paired
Site left cleanDust vacuumed, furniture returned, packaging removed unless they ask to keep it
DocumentedA photograph of the finished wall attached to the assignment before you leave

Callbacks are handled by the installer who did the work. If a panel comes back out of level, if a source was never tested, or if the customer finds dust on the mantel a week later, that is your return trip. It is not a penalty system — it is the reason you are trusted with the assignment in the first place — and in practice installers who work to the list above rarely see one.

Credentials, dispatch and how the relationship runs

EVOTECH IT LLC has been a licensed and insured low-voltage contractor in the Houston area since around 2004 and carries a 5.0 star rating. That makes the entry requirements firm and the working relationship deliberately simple.

Before anything dispatches

  • An active general liability policy in your business name, with a certificate naming EVOTECH IT LLC as certificate holder
  • An insured vehicle, and a phone you answer
  • A cleared background check
  • Any low-voltage cabling installed on our behalf is done under our licence and to our specification

Once you are on the roster

  • Assignments are offered with scope, address, panel size and a time window; you accept or decline freely
  • You set the days and hours you will work and we route to them
  • Extra work a customer asks for on site is priced through dispatch first, never agreed privately
  • You are an independent contractor on a 1099 basis, responsible for your own taxes, tools and insurance

We keep the roster deliberately smaller than demand would allow, because a thin list of installers we trust produces far fewer problems than a long one we do not.

How to apply for 77407 work

Phone (832) 359-2425 and say you are applying as a television installation subcontractor, or send the same through our contact page. Tell us how long you have been installing, the areas you cover, your insurance position and your availability. If you have photographs of finished work, two or three are plenty.

The interview is a conversation about method rather than a test: how you find framing in a truss-built house, how you set height, how you conceal power, what you do when a customer’s bracket is wrong for their wall, and how you handle a mistake. Compensation is discussed there and depends on scope and experience — we are not going to quote a figure on a page that cannot see what work you are taking on.

Applicants who clear intake are usually paired with a lead installer for a first assignment so both sides can see how it goes before it becomes routine.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take assignments evenings and weekends only?

Yes, and several of our installers do exactly that. Evening and Saturday windows are popular with working households in these neighbourhoods, so a weekend-only installer is genuinely useful rather than an inconvenience. Give us the pattern at interview and we route to it.

The customer wants more done while I am there. What do I do?

Ring dispatch and let us price it. The customer gets one written number from one company, you get paid for the added scope, and nobody ends up disagreeing about what was promised in a hallway. Private arrangements with our customers end the relationship.

Who covers a callback?

The installer who performed the work returns to put it right, promptly and without arguing in front of the customer. If the cause turns out to be a faulty customer-supplied bracket or a product fault rather than workmanship, we take that up with the customer separately.

How quickly could I start after applying?

It depends almost entirely on your paperwork. Once the insurance certificate, business details and background check are in and the interview is done, a first assignment normally follows quickly because this ZIP stays busy. Incomplete files are the only thing that slows it down.
